Life Underwriters' Association Presents Whittington with Silver Service—Delegates Will Be Sent to Sacramento

Twenty-five members of the Life Underwriters' association of Los Angeles met last night for the, purpose of discussing questions of interest to their profession. It was the general sentiment of the meeting that the work of organizing the life underwriters throughout the country should be taken up and pushed. Attorney Frank G. Tyrrell was speaker of the evening, and on him devolved the task of presenting retiring President John W. Whittington with a handsome silver service, given him by members of the association in commemoration of his two years of faithful service. C. A. Montgomery is the new president of the association. Plans for the furtherance of organization were discussed, and it was decided that Mr. Whittington should go to Sacramento, accompanied by J. N. Russell, jr., and I. J. Muma of the executive committee, to represent the life underwriters in pending legislation affecting the association's interests. Now that Mr. Whittington has retired from the active direction he expects to pass his time traveling about the country, organizing the life underwriters of various localities into cooperative bodies. •-' . .
