Tbe market yesterday was devoid of interest, carrying profit to neither side, so Blight and rapid wire tbe changes. Alpha, Exchequer and Imperial were the stiff Btocks upon tho list, but even these hardly maintained tbe advances they made. The market has been so active during the past two weeks that all hands appear desirous of resting from tbe strain they bava buen under during that period, and this combined with the waiting of a reaction, caused tbe dulluess of the past two days ; but as it is very sensitive, there is no telling when it will take a turn either •« up or down," and therefor it can bo safely said, tbat tho present stagnation will not be of long continuance.
