Judge James A. Gibson and wife and Dr. and Mrs. E. V. Van Norman, all prominent residents of San Diego, have arrived in the city and are stopping at the Westminster.

Mr. Ross T. Hlckox, who has been studying law with Walter Rose, esq., W this city, was among the lucky law students who passed tho examination before the supreme court yesterday for admission to the bar. Mr. Hlckox passed a most creditable examination, in fact several well known lawyers who were present at the session of the court said that his examination was a most brilliant one. Mr. Hickox's relatives reside at Etlwanda, and his many friends extend their heartiest congratulations and good wishes.
