Italian Successfully .Resists Arrest After Raising Disturbance ■* With His Wife

.' Barricaded' In- hls-home^nd armed with . a revolver, Domenico ■ Zurlo, 825 Parker drive, defied ' the police and 'resisted arrest last night .after having severely beaten his wife." ' ' '

Nelghbors'say that- Zurlo went home about 7 o'clock last night; and began quarreling with his wife. This disturbance continued for nearly an 'hour, during which time numerous terrifying shrieks were given . by • Mrs. . Zurlo,' then a pistol shot was fired and all "was quiet. '• ' . .-. .

M. D. Wood, 221 Parker drive, heard the shot and summoned . the police. Detectives Talamantes, Leon and Craig were -sent to the scene of - the disturbance, '■ but as they approached the house Zurlo bolted •■ the, windows and doors. When the officers .' demanded admittance they received^no response. After repeated demands to open" the door Zurlo and his wife' appeared *nt the window and 'refused to obey the order. Being assured by' the woman that she was uninjured the officers left the house arid made no 'further effort to arrest Zurlo. , • . ' .
