Eleven.Year.Old Son of Long Beach Blacksmith Wounded in Thigh by Youth with ,22-Caliber Rifle

Special to The Herald. LONG BEACH, Jan. 12.—Neel Kempley. the 11-year-old eon of un East Fourth street blacksmith, J. F. Kempley, was accidentally shot In the thigh Saturday afternoon by a young playmate with whom he had gone hunting near San Pedro. The boy with the gun. which was a 22-callber rifle, was standing directly behind young Kempley when the weapon was discharged. Dr. J. M. Holden probed for the bullet but did not locate It. The Injury Is not expected to prove serious. - . ,v ,
