Scaled proposals will be received at the office of the Superintendent of the XJ, S. Mint, No. 613 Commercial street, San Francisco, until 12 m. of the TWENTIETH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1813, for furnishing and puttug in place, complete, four steam engines, font tubular steam boilers, and lor shafting, pulleys, couplings, clutches, pillow block bearings, hangers, wail brackets, ! g ar wheels, sole plates, etc., tie, for the U. S. Branch Mint, at San Francisco, Cal.; all to be made in strict accordance with the terms of this advertisement and the plans and specifications on inspection at this office. All material and workmanship must be of the very best description, of the kind specified, and must be made and put up under the supervision and to the entire satisfaction of the undersigned or their authorized agent, and will rot be accepted until tested by actual use and found satisfactory and efficient in their working. Everything necessary to perfect the iron-work, in all particulars, must be furnished by the contractor, whether mentioned in the specifications and shown in the plans or not ; and all scaffolding and other appliances necessary to put the same in place must be furnisbed by the contractor. Proposals will be made either for the entire work as specified, or for the engines, boilers and machinery separately ; or for the engines and machinery, or for the boilers, separately ; to be put in place, complete, within one hundred and twenly (120) days of acceptance of'proposal. The right Is reserved to reject any or all of the bids if deemed tor the interest of the Government to do so.
