BUT LITTLE HOPE.

A Respite for Drager and OUen Asked of tbe Governor. Last night Private Secretary Boruck telegraphed to Governor Waterman at San Bernardino inquiring whether or not he intended granting a respite to Drager and Olsen, who are condemned to bs hung at Placet vilic this moraine. He said a delegation of citizens of El Dorado county had called upon him and petitioned for a respite of ten days. Mr. Boruck was shown a press dispatch, which stated that Governor Waterman would leave Ban Bernardino yesterday for Sacramento in consequence of the serious illness of Executive decretary Douglass. He said there must be some mistake, as the Governor wss to attend the opening of tbe Branch Reform School at San Bernardino to-day. Up to 2 o'clock this morning no reply had been received from the Governor, and it looks as if the execution will take place this morning before sny respite can be received, should tbe Governor see fit to grant it.
