The Champion Lady Golf Player of

the United States.

The young lady who recently won the: woman's champhmship of America as a golf player is Miss Beatrix Hoyt. She is not yet IS, and it is only two years since her first attempt to wield a club on any link: Personally she is a pretty girl of rather more than medium hitrht, slight, but with a forearm that any masculine athlete might envy.

In November. 1805, several of the ladies in the vicinity of the Country Club of Winchester, N. V., engaged a professiemal to teach them golf on the new links just laid out there, and it was easy for her to practice and be instructeel in the good and bad points of the game. She won the national championship of INIM] at Morristown, and of VBSfi at Manchester. She may go to England next year to contest for the highest golf honors.
