BY-LAWS OF THE Sausalito Town Improvement ASSOCIATION.

1st — Name. This association shall be called the Sausalito Town Improvement Association. 2d — Objects. The objects of this association shall be to further whatever in the judgment of its members will promote the best Interests of the town; protect life and property; encourage good government; stimulate needed improvements — public and private; suppress nuisances of all kinds and enhance the value of real estate by making Sausalito still more desirable and inviting as a place of residence. No omissions from the foregoing definition of the objects of the association shall be construed as limit or restricting the right of the association to consider and act upon any matter which shall be deemed of local public interest by a majority of its members present at any regular or special meeting at which there shall be a quorum. 3d — Quorum. Ten members, other than the members of the executive committee, shall constitute a quorum at any regular or special meeting of the association. 4th — Membership. Any freeholder or resident of Sausalito, or person interested therein, shall be eligible to membership, All applications or proposals for membership shall be referred to the executive committee with power to elect. 5th — Officers. The Officers of the association shall be an Executive Committee of ten members, to be elected by the association at its annual meeting, in whom shall be vested all the powers of the association. The members of the Executive Committee shall elect from their own number a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary and a Treasurer, who shall hold office during the pleasure of the Committee. 6th — Terms of Office. The members of the executive committee shall serve from the date of their election until the next annual meeting, which in 1891 and thereafter shall be held on the first Tuesday In April. 7th — Duties of the Committee. The duties of the committee shall be to carry out all the purposes of the association as hereinbefore enumerated 8th — SpeciaI Meetings. Special meetings of the association may be called by the president at such times as he may direct, or upon requisition of fifteen members. 9th — Dues and Assessments. The dues of members shall be one dollar per month, payable in advance, The association may authorize a special assessment at any regular or special meeting upon the recommendation of the executive committee, payment of which shall be optional, and no member shall be considered liable for any amount in excess of his dues and voluntary subscriptions. 10th — Delinquents. Any member of this association that shall be three months iIn arrears shall, upon notice by the secretary, be dropped from the rolls. 11th — Alteration and Amendments. These by-laws may be amended at any meeting of the association, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given to the secretary thirty days prior thereto.
