Speaking Appointments of D. L. Moody.

Mr. D. L. Moody, one of the most successful workers in the cause of religion who has ever been in this State., has made the following appointments for his tour through California and thence Eastward :

Sunday School Institutes Rev. J. H. Vincent, D. D., whose addresses in this city and at the late San Jose Convention, have attracted so much attention from those engaged in Sunday School work, will hold Sunday School Institutes in this State, Oregon and Nevada, as follows: April 22d, 23d and 24th, at Vallejo; April 26th and 27th, at Grass Valley; April 29th, 30th and 31st, at Napa; May 2d, at Oakland; May 3d, at San Francisco; May 4th, at Oakland; May 6th to 23d, trip to Oregon; May 24th and 25th, at Maryiville; May 26th, 27th and 28th, at Sacramento: May 29th and 30th, at Stockton; June Ist, at Virginia City, Nevada; June 4th, Salt Lake City. Marie Suize Arrested — The Gold Hill News, of the 20th inst., thus speaks of a late arrest is this city of a woman for wearing a man's clothes : Most of our citizens will recollect Marie Suize, the woman who was allowed to keep herself dressed in men's clothing and transact business as such, keeping a wholesale liquor store on B street, Virginia. She got along very well, and after being here about a year, a few weeks ago she went to San Francisco, where it seems she has got into difficulty.

Anaheim From the Gazette : Official information has been received from the Postmaster General that, by an Act of Congress, passed February 28th, 1871, s post road or mail route was established between Anaheim and San Bernardino. The Postmaster at Anaheim has bon charged by the Department to make a sketch of the route, and give all information necessary to the letting of a contract for carrying the mails over the same.

Yorwo Republicans The Young Men's Republican Club met last evening, at Dashaway Hall. As the Democratic Club had secured the larger hall, it was deemed best by the Republicans to adjourn to the smaller one. About twenty new members were proposed, after which the meeting adjourned until next Friday.

Malicious Mischief Frederick Bralick was arrested yesterday on a charge of malicious mischief, for having struck out at his counterfeit presentment, us seen by him in tho mirror of Lazarus Joovich. The mirror, valued at fifty dollars, was smashed, and the prisoner will have an opportunity to compromise damages before the Police Magistrate this morning.

Snow Very little snow, Bays the White Pine \ews of the 17th, is left on the west side of White Pine Mountain. On the east side, where the sun does not strike with its full power, the snow is from one to three feet deep. No trouble is found in crossing it, as it is frozen, and can be walked over with ease.

— A Lynchburg, Va., paper makes this agonizing appeal : •• The railing east of Flynn's shop is broken down — is dangerous and a disgrace to the city. Will our city fathers kill their children or repair the railing."

— Miss Temple, the Bishop of Exeter's sister, has been put in nomination for the School Board of St. Thomas, a suburb of Exeter. A technical informality, it will be remembered, prevented Misa Temple being returned as a member of the City of Exeter School Board.

—It is reported that the maple sugar crop in New England this year will be very small, owing to the warm weather, which has suddenly cleared the earth of frost and checked the flow of sap. Cold, freezing nights and warm days are the conditions requisite to maple Bugar making. The first of these conditions is this year wanted.
