P. W. POWERS, business man, ns he appears when discharging his official duties. In private lite he Is a contractor and real estate man. Mr. Powers, during ills brief term In the council chamber, has Justified the expectations of his friends and by his firmness and sound sense has proved himself a valuable factor In the city's government. He presides over the council with dignity and tact, and represents his ward (the Fifth) with energy and faithfulness. Mr. Powers was one of the two councllmen who steadfastly resisted the sewage Irrigation of vegetables infamy.
