NEW HOSPITAL ■IK PASSED Contagious Patients Must Be Removed

Councilman Skilling Introduced an ordinance in the city council yesterday for the control of hospitals where patients having tuberculosis and other contagious diseases are treated and asked that the ordinance be passed under suspension of the rules. "• The council acceded to the request and 'the ordinance was passed. The ordinance restricts the location and maintenance of such hospitals to sections of the city that are sufficiently isolated from populous districts to minimize the danger of contamination. The passage of the ordinance is due to the fact that energetic protests have been entered against the presence of these institutions in densely populated districts. The ordinance will go into effect thirty days after its passage. A request was received from the park commission asking that a watchman for Central park at a salary of $75 per month be provided. The request was referred to the finance committee.
