Mr-. McKinley, wife of the president, her sisters and the heirs of the late George I). .Saxton, own the oil and mineral right ir 260 acres of land in the vicinity of the Scio oil field. They did not know it until informed by a man who wanted a taase. In looking up an abstract they found that the present owner owns enly the surface, .lameSaxton, father of Mrs. McKinley, when he sold it over thirty years ago, having reserved the mineral and under the surface rights.
