CbimiSal.— Owen Geraty was arrested, yesterday, in the Police Court, oo a bench warrant, for aa assault with intent to do bodily harm to the person of John Krause, and also on a warrant for assault and battery on the wife of the latter. E. Donley and Robert Miller were arrested on bench warrants for grand larceny. Bench warrants were a.so B^r«d on Peter GofT, on the Prison Brig, and Wn. Hooks, at the Station House— the former for grsnd larceny and the latter for burglary. Tbe parties wera subsequently arraigned before the Court of Scions. The bail in the cases of Donley, Miller and Geraty was reduced from $6,000 t0 (8,000, aa<i by the last two — the sureties beM. U. Odff;j#y aud Wm. Chesley in the case of Greraty, and John Burton ani P. McMunus in the oas« ol M.liv:-. Hook* plead guilty before the Court, wuived time in regurd to judgment, aud waa »&rjU'nc«d to one year's imprisonment in the State Prison. He is one of the enterprising young gentlemen who broke into J. & P. Carolau's store, on Tue>day nighr last, and was caught in the act of iiio.ku.ij an offing with a cargo ot valuables. Miller is the purson who bad a difficulty with or alleged to have bean attacked by 11. A. Cuulfield, at the rtsiacioe of the former, several months since, in which it was generally thought that Caulh'eld bad been killed. It is remarkable that an attempt to indiot Caulreld, in this connection, should hare tailed, and that, on the other hand, a tiue bill should have been found against Miller for stealiug one or :a<:rt; uiulcs, the property of Caulfield. It w&s rumored, at the lime of the difficulty, that Oaulfield visited the house of Miller simply oj busiijej'j connected with his missing mules.

Cauvobxia Justice. — We mentioned several drtjs since hat aa ludian, named Maikilo, had been urre»ted in thi3 city for horse stealing ; that the horae in question was taken from his possession ; that tvheu the cai<e was called in the Police Court the defendant alleged that he was the sole owner of the animal, and was employed by General 3utter, upon whose business he visited the city. The prosecuting witness in the case was £. Lonely : the arresting officer, Mr. Bishop. Mr. 11 ore to (interpreter) received, on the 2Cth instant, a letter from General Sutter in regard to the case in which he says that the Indian is tuts legal owner of the horse in question ; that he had worked for him almost constantly since 1239, and would not steal ; he received the horse from him (Sutter) last Spring, as part payment for his serviced ; that he (.Sutler,) purchased the animal from Samuel Neal, an old pioneer, on Butt* eieek, who arrived here with Col. Fremont, and had owned the horse for several years previously, lie state:*, further, that he had dispatched a letter by Elba (a relative of Maikilo) to Justice Foote, of '.his city, in regard to the matter, setting forth the facts/ and also to the District Attorney. Although the complainant failed to appear, the Indian (Muikilo) has lost his horse, and, unless the matter can be satisfactorily explained in regard to the sequestration of the animal, the pub--110 may conclude, us we are inclined (from the present aspect of the case) to infer, 1 hat the transfictiun was a deliberate swindle on the Indian. We hope to bt»ar from some of the gentlemen who have been concerned in the case.
