PENSION BUREAU REPORT.

There Will bo No Extraordinary Deficiency the Present Year. Washington, Feb. s.—Tho Commissioner of Pensions has submitted to the Secretary of tho Interior a long statement of the operations of the bureau the past seven mouths. He figures that the total first payments under the new law during the fiscal year will show a reduction of ten million dollars on the first, as compared with last year, and that the predictions of an extraordinary deficiency in tho appropriation for the present and the next fiscal year will not be realized. .He declared that the practical operation of the Act of June 27th last will be to materially reduce tho annual value of pensions.
