NEW OFFICIAL TERM.

Next Monday at 12 o'clock meridian the new official term of state and county officers commences. The changes in Amador county will be few, but important. U. S. Spagnoli, who has been the republican incumbent of the treasurer's office since January 1895, retires in favor < of Geo. A. Gritton, his democratic opponent. With the exception of the deputies employed in the sheriff's and taxcollector's office, these are the only changes that will take place in the personnel of the occupants of ' the county buildings. W. E. Downs as county surveyor, surrenders to W. Brown of Oleta not however, as a defeated candidate, he having declined the honor of a re-nomination.

On the board of supervisors Fred LeMoin, a republican, retires in favor ot D. Burke, a democrat, and A. B. McLaughlin a democrat, gives place to A. Grillo, a republican, so that the political complexion of the board for the next two years will remain the same.
