AMADOR

Jan. 26— Mr Esla, an old resident of Amador, passed away early Monday. The funeral took place Wednesday, with a large attendance considering the weather. New Chicago was visited by a dcs tructive fire Saturday night about 7 :3 U. A hotel, two saloons and a barn were destroyed. Mr Fioletti passed away some time between Saturday and Sunaay. The funeral will be held at Sutter Creek. Miss Edna Prothero returned home Sunday, after a two weeks'- visit at Mrs Fitzsimmons has returned home, after a visit to her home in San FranCisco. The cave which is usually filled with water during the winter season, is again filled. The main road is blockaded, so that travelers are compelled to go by the Keystone mill. The rockpile, which is close to the cave, is being washed down the creek gradually.
