THE CORONADO TENT CITY DAILY PROGRAM IS published daily at the Tent City and distributed freely for the information and amusement of the campers. It is proper to state that though the proprietors are interested in this publication in the same manner that they are interested in everything that pertains to the Tent City, they are in no sense responsible for the opinions or expressions of its editorial writer. Among the late arrivals from San Diego are Mrs. Bidwell and Miss Georgia Bidwell. Mrs. A. P. Johnson entertained Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Shaw and Mrs. Billmeyer on Friday evening. Swimming instructions may be taken at Bath house No. 1, where L. E. Wallace has many pupils. E. M. Smith, a representative of the Illinois Pacific Glass Company of San Francisco, is a delighted visitor here. On Saturday night the Casino accommodated the largest crowd of dancers since the immense gathering of the Fourth. Rev. George Kline, until recently of CoffeyviIIe, Kas., is residing on the beach. Mr. Kline was Baptist pastor in that town, but is now seeking a location in Southern California. The Fun Club matinee dance on Friday afternoon brought out the full force of the club's members, some forty couples dancing to the delightful music supplied by Messrs. Stickney and Gorenflo. After the Casino dancing on Friday evening a melon party was held on the beach, the following participating: Miss Knox, Mrs. Knox, Miss Doyle, Miss Newson, Miss Mullins, Miss Black, Mrs. Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob West, Bill Ingelow. Ray Sauer, and T. Vaughan. Sunday's concert was excellent in every way and the large assemblage gathered at the band stand never listened to a more perfect rendition of "William Tell." Messrs. Bennett and Paulisch played solos and as usual received a triple encore; and Mr. McGuire, the clarinetist, showed to advantage in "Antony and Cleopatra" ballet music. DAILY PROGRAM Vol. IV CORONADO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, JULY 20, 1903 No. 35 Miss Lena Sefton was a dinner guest at the Cafe on Saturday. W. H. Smith, manager of the Pacific Electric Company, is visiting here. Mrs. E. M. Chambers resides at the "Dolar Dulce" tent on Eighteenth street. On Tuesday at 2:30 in the Library Mrs. English will give a reading on palmistry. Gottschalk's "Last Hope" was beautifully played by Miss Hennie Hatten in the Library on Friday afternoon. Mrs. John Bailhache of San Francisco, is visiting Major and Mrs. W. H. Bailhache at their residence on D street between Ninth and Tenth. From San Bernardino recently came Mr. and Mrs. Al McRae and Charles Clusker, who are located on Eighteenth street at the "Lair of Baby Elkin." Miss Grace Frazer, of Los Angeles, arrived on Saturday. Her brother is Harry Frazer, a representative of Mackenzie, Flint & Winsby, the San Diego hardware people. Misses Vidal, Ethel, and Ruth Reed entertained on Saturday the Misses Marie and Nadine Dow and Gertrude Lang. The day was passed pleasantly in swimming, rowing, bowling, etc. The first whist party of the season was held in the Library. Ten tables provided some excellent sport. These gatherings will be held every Friday night from now on, and any form of card games may be played. At her tent on Seventh street Mrs. A. Burkhardt entertained at a watermelon party. Among those who partook of the hospitality were: Mrs. H. G. Krohn, Mrs. B. Morsch, Mrs. J. C. Benner, Miss Laura C. Schroeder, A. Burkhardt, John Lang, Frederick Krohn, Gerald W. Burkhardt. When you think of your summer vacation think of Coronado Tent City. Nature was more generous to that resort than the other places. And now that the genius of man and money without stint, have worked out the problem, Tent City leaves little to be desired. Arizona Republican Dora, with Dick at the wheel, took a party of fishers to Coronado Islands on Saturday and came back with a boat load of fish, a mixture of bass, barracuda and yellowtail. Among the party were: T. Hilbert, A. Burkhardt, John M. Lang, K. M. Norton, W. H. Alford, Fannie Alford. FLOTOW. Flotow was a popular composer of German operas, which in his day, were much in vogue in Vienna. After his death his works became world famous, and "Martha" is now performed as much as any opera presented by modern managers. The overture to this work will be played at this evening's concert. The La Jolla train was well filled with tourists on Saturday, and a large number of tenters kept Mr. Thill busy showing them the attractions of that beautiful resort. Keating, Miss E. Woodward, Mr. and Mrs. G. Roqueana, Miss Dorothy Cooper, Frances Young, Mrs. M. E. Whipple, Fred R. Dorn, Allie D. Dorn, Mollie Davies, C. L. Smythe, W. T. Beach, Olive L. Ensign, W. T. Egan, Billie M. Cay, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Barman, Mrs. Florence Seegar, J. R. Maguire. The launch Dora made her regular trip to Coronado Islands on Saturday. Among the party were two noted anglers from Los Angeles A. Burkhardt and John Lang. Mr. Burkhardt distinguished himself by landing the largest yellowtail of the day, it weighing twenty-five pounds. Mr. Lang caught the largest kelp bass of the season. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hall of San Francisco, arrived in camp yesterday. Mrs. Hall will be remembered as Miss Stella Failkner by many of last season's tenters. The new arrivals were married but recently, and both are looking serenely happy. Their stay here is of indefinite duration. A crowd of little children including Marion Parsons and Mary Anderson, assembled at the Stickney tent on Friday to celebrate the second birthday of Gladys Stickney. Our young guest was the recipient of many gifts. Mrs. Landis, Mrs. Hemenway, and Mrs. Dr. Reid, of San Diego, dined at the Cafe Saturday evening. LOST A gold collar pin with torquoise setting.
