♦ * * Three San Diego Symphony Orchestra, prize-winning, young artists will perform at four Young People’s Concerts next Wednesday and Thursday (April 5-6) at 9:30 and 11 am at Copley Symphony Hall. Appearing with the orchestra will be violinist Jennie Choi, 17, aLa Jolla Country Day School senior who won the $5OO first prize; marimba player Anthony Gonzalez, 17, a senior at Sweetwater High School in National City and winner of the $3OO second place prize, and pianist Tien-Yu Chang, also 17, a Torrey Pines High School senior, who won the $2OO third prize. Entitled "Runs, Hits and an Era: the Pacific Coast League 1903-1958," the display will feature original uniforms, portraits of teams and players, stadium replications and other memorabilia from the Pacific Coast League's 55-year reign.
