Upcoming Car Wash To Benefit Local Boy Scouts Cavalcade Trip

Eight Coronado Boy Scouts will travel to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico for a ten day Cavalcade. They leave on June 21, and will need money for travel expenses. The "Car Wash of Coronado" at 150 "C" Avenue (just behind Lucky's) is helping the boys earn money for their trip by holding a benefit car wash on Sunday, June 11, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. The boys will be selling car wash tickets at Lucky's and Vons this Saturday. Boys from both troops 801 and 806 will be selling tickets.

The Scouts have been on a wailing list for this adventure for the past five years. Philmont Scout Ranch is 136,000 acres of rugged mountain wilderness. The boys are especially fortunate to be able to participate on horseback. The following boys will be going and are available for tickets: Doug Behner, Steve Hessler, Ned Imming, Mike Iwashita, Mike Noonan, Tommy Plumb, Gary Rigsby and Luke Urtnowski. A $5 minimum donation is requested. Checks can be made payable to Boy Scouts of America.
