Navy League Holds Change Of Command Aboard USS Coronado

In a “change-of-command” ceremony aboard the command ship USS Coronado, Rick Kirstein relieved Mike Conner as president of the Coronado Navy league. Greeting guests arriving aboard was the ship’s captain, Capt. Mike Miller, who was also the principal speaker following dinner. Also serving as officers during 1997 are Bob Worchesek, first vice president; Caroll Robinson, second vice president; Gene Crilly, treasurer; and Nikki Hiscock, secretary.

Past and present skippers of the USS Coronado were honored last week by the Coronado Navy League. From left are retired Navy Capt. M.J. "Marty' Twite; his wife, Mary Anne; Barbara Miller; and her husband, Capt. Mike Miller. Twite was Coronado's skipper in 1974 when Miller graduated from the U.S, Naval Academy.
