San Diego Boys Choir Carols For Coronado Seniors

by Linda Hunt

The San Diego Boys Choir was in town one recent Wednesday evening, spinning its sweet magic for a roomful of delighted Christmas concert-goers. Lead by Marlene Dobbs, the vocal music teacher at the Oak Park Music Conservatory in San Diego, and accompanied on piano by Cherlynn Wilson, the boys, aged seven to twelve, sang a medley of seasonal carols to the appreciative residents of Coronado Royale, a board and care facility for seniors. The Choir, according to Dobbs, sings “wherever we are asked." including Christmas on the Prado in Balboa Park, the White House for former President Ronald Reagan, the Slate Legislature in Sacramento and as part of the San Diego Arts Festival. She encourages boys w ho like to sing and want to learn music to join the group. The Choir meets every Wednes-

day from 6 to 7:30 pm. in room 103 at the Casa del Prado in Balboa Park. New and experienced singers are welcome. For further information please
