New York Wool Market.

Na w YoaK, bVptemher Ist, IHII4. Waltuu Browj's Monthly Wool Circular, for September, says:

An upward movement in domestic Fleeces, of which symptoms were evident iv the latter part of July, fairly set in early in August, and au advance of from five to ten cents a pound was established ; the demand being most actire for low and medium wools.

Business all through the month was active, witb large transactions, and a very firm feeling on the part of holders, but at tbe close trade was somewhat restricted by the decline iv gold, rumors of an early peace, etc., etc.

Although the excitement of it warmly contested presidential canvass leads some to look for an unsatisfactory fall trade, yet unless gold goes much lower than now seems probable, uool wilt not vary materially in price, and despite the economy forced upon many hy the high price of woolen goods, confidence is tell that all tbe products of our mills will be absorbed by the legitimate and healthy demands of consumers. Foreign wools of low and medium grades have sold largely duriug tbe month, and the assortment of these kinds is somen hat reduced ; the stock ol fine wool is large. The imports for the month are only one-half as large as iv August, 1863. The high rate for money in England has checked the advance in prices there, although the consumption continues very great. Pulled wools, tho moderate offerings of old super and extra, have been taken at full prices, aud lambs, which is now of fair length, has found a ready market; storks of all descriptions are light. California wools are firmly held, and MM considerable sales have been made at fair prices.
