"The Curse Lifted."

We fir.iah this important essay in this number, and we bope the reading of it by parents will lead to such reflection and action as shall accomplish great good.

We esteem this essay of Dr. Jackson one of the most important that has ever been presented to tbe minds of parents, and sad indeed is tbe reflection, that there are too many fathers and mothers who will lightly esteem such truths, and pass tbem by, and thus entail a curse on their own descendants.

We have published an extra number of the journals which contains these chapters, and hope they will be called for by those who desire to spread Great Truths, and thus " lift the curse" fiom off suffering humanity. The history of the world will show from whence sprang our best and noblest of men, —not from tbe rich and fashionable, but from tbe industrious, tbe energetic working spirit of the age in wbicb they live ; and never shall we see a race of men and women free from deformity and disease, until the L.tws of Nature and of God are obeyed, as pointed out in the essay we have just published.

We notice an extraordinary change in the Sac. Bee. It used to he as flat as dishwater, but is now as sparkling as champagne. — Et. Perhaps it is owing to tbe dose of acid and soda we administered to the Bee a few weeks ago.— Elevator.

We clip the above from the neat and spirited little paper of the colored people. The KUnUfr, we are glad to know is in a very prosperous way.

We presume the cause of the change in tbe B>e is, as our cotemporary remarks, owing to the medicine they administered. Of course it ought to iparklr, it has come in contact with an Kief §Jor!

nHAvEswARt).—An exchange tells the following good news of Amos Kendall, the great politician of bygone years, now very aged, bas made a profession of religion, and joined the Baptist Church of Washington. Tbis is good news ;we sincerely bope the same thing would happen to James Buchanan, even at the last hour.
