NEW COMERS TO OUR STATE.

The ease and rapidity with which the citizens of other States oan visits the Pacific shores now, is manifested by the great number that corns to California from all pans of the Uuion, and from Europe. The Pacific Rait Road ia now bringing to us thou-auds of the most prominent men of the land Men of all professions and interests, — men who can aud do compreheud tbe vast resources of our State, and nieu too, wbo appreciate theiu.

From the present moment daring all tbe travailing season, our City and ull tbe interior Cities, are tbronged witb tbe citizens of oilier States and Europe, wbo come to see and to judge for themselves, if ail the reports they have heard of this wonderful laud is true. DISTINGrjISBSD VISITORS . During tbe season there will be many strangers from abroad, whose lives and public services hare been of that character tbat should demand of our citizens some mars of recognition that we do appreciate tbe good they bare done. All public benefactors should receive the approbation of those for whom ihry have spent tbeir life energies. Amoug the many distinguished men who will come to California tif present year, no citizen of our country deserves a more cordial welcome to tbis " Garden of the world," tban ths Gentleman we have named.

Mr. Wilder has spent a whole life in ths cause of Horticulture, he is now and has been for rears the President of the American Pomological Society, the Head and we may say the Heart, of th* Horticulture and Floriculture of our country, and coming as he does to California to see for himself tbe Pomological and Horticultural wealth of our State particularly be should receive from the Fruit Growers of our State a most cordial reception, and a public welcome. It is expected that Mr. Wilder will be accompanied by several distinguished men from Burope, nnd the Eastern States, wbo are identified in tbis great interest, an 1 it certainly Is to be hoped that they will receive due attention. There are a great number of our new cotnsrs to the State that wisely give their time in viewing onr celebrated places, such as tbe Yosemite, th* Big Trees, Geysers, etc., etc. We met on the Western Care, on Thursday, a party of fourteen on their way to ths Yosemite, Big Trees, etc. The Boston Board of Trade are coming witb the Governor of tbat State aud other States, and it may be our President and Meinbsra of his Cabinet, may soon be with us. Let us do honor to such men, for they are deserviug of it. We hail with joy the coming of the best men of tbe old States, for such will do our State justice and we shall he greatly benefitted thereby, were we to record tbeir names it would occupy columns.
