FOURTH OF JULY—FREEDOMS DAY.

■ Never before in onr city bave we bad ao universally an acceptable, and satisfactory a celebration aa on tho preaent year, all the arrangements were carried out perfectly. Our streets were never ao profusely, or beautifully and appropriately drea.»ed, from Market to Street it waa a maas ol waving bannera and flags. All our public buildings had the Stara and Stripes at tbe summit and many of them were covered ivesy window being marked witb thia " Emblem ol Liberty.'' — The principal Hotelawere gaily dreaaed, and many private reaidences tastefully arranged. The principal feature so appropriately beautiful was the Banners spread acrosa our streets begining at Market Street and extending to Jackson Street, on each of tbeae waa the name of a aiguer of the Dbclaration or iNUKriNDKMus, commen cinq at Market Street, with tbe name of that Patriot, CuißLia Cabuoll of Carboli.to.l. The names of Carroll, Hancock, Adams, aud others, of tbat glorious band were thus shown across that gay and beautiful atreet, and read gratefully by lena of thousands ol people wbo passed beneath that festooned arcb. Three maeaive Arches, one at Market, one at California, aod one at Washington Streets, fully dressed with flags, and painted very neatly with devices, made that Street the moat beautiful eight ever seen on any occasion of thia kiod, it was highly creditable to those who had tbe work in charge. The Parade was a very full one, unusuaLy so, extending miles in length, beautiful and effective in appearance and ao really grand, and as was said by strangers from abroad, to be the fine t display ever seen in the laat ten years, in any part of our country. The day waa unuaually enjoyed by our business generally suspended, and the whole feelinga devoted to tbe day and ita dutie". The Literar' Exercises were excellent, giving general satisfaction. We bave not space to particularize, aave to note ;bo "Car of Liberty," and ita alteodants which representation ol States were beautiful. The Liberty Car being the richest and most beautiful turn out ever seen in our city. From our exchanges we bave been glad to know tbat " Fkieuoms Day" was observed all over our Slate with a glad spirit of enthusiasm, and tbe gpi it of Patriotism, and with credit to our State, Country, and our glorious Flag.

At a meeting of the Pllftrim 8 tciety held at Plymouth, Mih,, last week, It w*a decided to celebrate th« 250tn rinni veranry of tbe landing of the Pllgrima on .heSlit of December, by an oration, dinner and ball.
