THE SEASON, CROP, PROSPECTS, &c.

The Newspapers of tbe day, all over our Slate, give columns of Articles on the Agricultural Interests and tbe Crops now, wbere a few years ago they would hardly show space for a Paragraph in praise of it, and the reason of this is, the wealth of our Slate depends upon thio Interest, and the Bread and Butter of Newspapers will have to come from this tourc, for when nil else tails, the "Earth will give its Increase."

It is truly a cheerful thought to know it is thus so, for men have been slow in believing the Original decroa—" Tbou shall till the Earth," and "By the sweat of tby brow, thou shalt earn thy ,'aily bread,' thus proviog that this kind of Labor is ever to be Man's General Employment — all othera only secondary, as using up the Products of the soil for Mau's use and oomfort, after he has produced it by kis labor.
