PENNY CAUSES FIRE IN THE OWL LUNCH ROOM

An alarm from Tenth and Orange about 9:30 Sunday evening called the fire department to put out a blaze in the Owl Lunch room. The fire started in the electric wiring, and was caused by a “short” that occurred when water got into a piece of conduit Two pennies had been used instead of fuse plugs, and the current couldn’t blow the line, so the wiring was burned out. The damage was easily repaired, and consisted of mainly of electric wire and some food that was strongly scented by the burning rubber.
