DEATH OF MRS. PERKINS

After an illness of several weeks, Mrs. Lena May Perrins, wife of the pastor of the Graham Memorial Presbyterian church, died Wednesday at 1215 Fifth street. Besides her husband, Rev. William A. Perrins, Mrs. Perrins is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Perrins of Coronado, Mrs. R. C. Deissieux of Alhambra, and Mrs. C. M. McDonald of Columbus, 0., and two sisters, Miss Carrie Gilbert of Coronado, and Mrs. G. W. Dean of Gallion, Ohio. The body will be sent to Columbus for funeral services and interment. M rs. Alice M. Johns and Miss Reah, and Mrs. Johns’ father, Mr. Spohnhauer, left Thursday for Whittier, where they will make their home in future. Leland and Raymond are attending college at Whittier, and the re-uniting of the family will be pleasant for all concerned. Mrs. Johns has closed her dressmaking parlors in San Diego, but expects to have little difficulty in establishing a good business in Whittier. Among the arrivals on the S. S. Yale Thursday evening was Miss S. M. Rumsey, of Hertfordshire, England. She is a gifted teacher, who on her way to this country has held temporary positions in the Grenfell Association, Newfoundland, and Miss Porter’s well-known finishing school in Farmington, Connecticut. She is the guest of her old friend and one-time assistant, Mrs. Davies, of 860 H avenue. STRAND’S NEW TELEPHONE CORONADO 170
