HINDU HAS MEDALS.

OAKLAND, July 7.—Displaying five medals for bravery during his services under Lord Kitchener in the Soudan and the Punjab, and with the allied forces in the Boxer trouble* in China, Boobr Singh, a handsome Hindu, took tae stand in his own defense in I idge Samuels' court this morning when he was charged by Rolla Singh of 375 B street, of disturbing the peace. Another charge of drunkenness was also placed against Boohr Singh. The testimony developed that the defendant had been set upon by three men. who had first given him liquor and then robbed and beaten him. The charge of disturbing the peace was dismissed.
