At ttmesf /be market showed some disposition to rall/ybut increased gelling pressure :. soon carriedtprices down again. .An official . forecast of 1 cold wave to intend over a large part of the wheatgrowing country was the only important item of news that could be construed as favorable to the bulls. Throughout the day fluctuations were within a narrow range. May selling between 84% c and 85 1 / i<gBs%c. A fair demand by commission houses and shorts caused a steadier feeling late in the day. The close was easy, with May at 85@S5%c, off %@%c from yesterday. Large preliminary receipts and lower cables caused free selling of corn by cash houses and resulted in a weak market. May closed at 43% c. a. loss of Vi@%c. Because of the weakness In wheat and corn, sentiment In the oats pit was bearish. May closed- \i@ Me off at 30c. Reports from Nebraska and Missouri claiming heavy losses by hog cholera created a,decidedly strong provisions market. The price of live hogs, which advanced 10c to 15c also strengthened the situation.
