About this newspaper
Background
The Coronado Eagle printed July 4, 1990 – August 12, 1998. In 1990, Dean and Nancy Eckenroth established the Coronado Eagle newspaper, published on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Its office was located at 1022 C Avenue. For the first time in nearly two decades, Coronado had a locally owned newspaper. Dean Eckenroth was a former publisher of Coronado Journal. In July 1992, Larry Wade became editor of Coronado Eagle and the newspaper was published weekly. In March 1993, the Coronado Eagle transferred operations to 1116 Tenth Street. In August 1995, Larry Wade retired from the newspaper.
