Among the operas will be the later day favorites, including tho Puccini operas, "La Boheme," "Madame Butterfly" and “La Tosea.” A special production of “Carmen" will have Allco Gentle In the title role. The season Includes “Lucia,” “Trovatore” and "Rigoletto" as standard favorites. One of the special features will be the double bill, "The Secret of Susanne,” with Alice Nielsen as star, and “Cavalleria Rustleana,” with Alice Gentle as prima donna. Popular prices will prevail, thus enabling all music Ibvers to attend. COALE-HOLLEMAN The marriage of Miss Loraine Holloman, the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Holleman, to Howard Ogborn Coale will he solemnised this evening at the home of the bride’s parents, 1350 Bond street, the ceremony being performed at S;3O o'clock by the Rev. Robert P. Howell in the presence of relatives and friends. The house will be beautifully decorated with a profusion of ferns and cut flowers, and the bride will be given away by her father, Mrs. Walker C. Thomas will assist her sisters as matr m of honor and Miss Sadie Taylor will be the maid of honor. The bridesmaids will inelude Miss Virginia Judge, Miss Bertha Owen. Miss Esther Gleason. Miss Vera Morrow. Ilss Ruth Savage and Miss Louise Royar. Preceding the ceremony Miss Vera Morrow will sing “Because” mid “At Dawning.” Murrey Royar will serve Mr. Coule as best man and Fenton Taylor will be bridegroom’s man. TWO DAYS AHEAD The Corona Apartments in Santo Barbara avenue will be the scene of a Christmas party Thursday evening December 23 when the amusement hall will he beautifully decorated with pepper boughs and snow and a beautiful Christinas tree will be one of the features of the evening. An improvised chimney will admit Santa Claus to the children and a male quartette led by Sam Knabelkamp will furnish music. Later there will be dancing and more than seventyfive guests have been bidden. HOLIDAY DANCES With return from college of ‘ho younger set a number of charmingly arranged though informal dancing parties will be given during the holidays. Among the hostesses is Miss Beatrice Finlayson, daughter of Judge and Mrs, Frank G. Finlayson, who is entertaining at the home of her parents, 50(1 Qramercy place, this evening. The house will be gay with Christmas decorations, ferns, foliage, mistletoe, holly and royal poinytlias being used. Judge and Mrs. Innlayson will assist their daughter, chaperoning tho young folk, and fifty guests will enjoy the dancing. FOR BRIDE-ELECT Honoring Miss Stella March, whose marriage to Roy Dutton will be one of the events of January 6, Miss Katherine Saxman of 1150 West Thir-ty-eighth street entertained with a kitchen shower Monday afternoon. The decorations of the house were In green and white, carnations and ferns being combined. Games were played and the favors at tho tea table were kewpies dressed as cooks. BETROTHAL ANNOUNCED Dr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Locke of Berendo street formally announce the engagement of their daughter. ■Miss Margaret Locke, to Sidney Carr Walker of Holton. Kan., the news being told yesterday afternoon by Miss Locke to a merry coterie of friends asked ostensibly to honor Miss Margaret Hanna of Pasadena, whose marriage to Ralph Whittaker will bo one of the events of next month. The feature of the afternoon was an Immense Christmas tree with “shower" of gifts for Miss Hanna, the red and green color scheme being effectively curried out throughout the house. The last package Miss Hanna opened contained* two hearts with the names of Miss Locke and Mr. Walker, and suspended between the two was her engagement ring tied with an Immense bow of red tulle.
